Paste the filled-in prompt below into any ordinary AI chat that accepts text. It writes two pieces of text you will review and use yourself: a short flyer to read from a car or hallway, and a 2-4 sentence post for a neighborhood group.
What to paste: the whole prompt, with your confirmed facts placed in the MY INPUT section at the end. If a detail is unknown, leave it out rather than guessing; the prompt will mark it [NEEDS OWNER INPUT: what is missing].
Where to paste: an ordinary AI chat box. No terminal, account setup or API key is involved.
How to check the output: confirm the fact-check list traces each flyer claim back to one of your input lines, that every unverified sighting is labelled unconfirmed and kept out of the flyer headline, that anything under "do not publish" is absent, and that the contact line matches exactly what you supplied.
What this prompt does
It drafts only from the facts you paste, refuses to invent microchip numbers, tag numbers, addresses, rewards, breeds, ages or phone numbers, and marks gaps instead of filling them. It also avoids describing the pet's temperament unless you said so, and does not suggest feeding, chasing or trapping methods.
Inputs it expects
| Field | Example shape |
|---|---|
| Pet description | species, breed if known, colour, markings, size, age |
| Name the pet answers to | as you call it |
| Identifying details | collar, tag, microchip note, scars, limp |
| Last seen | date and time, or "time unknown" |
| Last seen place | cross streets or landmark you are willing to publish |
| Possible direction | directions, hiding spots, routines |
| Contact method | phone, email, or "contact via [platform] only" |
| Do not publish | anything private you want kept out |
| Reward | amount, or "no reward mentioned" |
List second-hand sightings separately under the unverified heading, or write "none supplied".
What it will not do
It cannot browse, call, message, print or post anything, and the text is not published anywhere automatically. It does not verify a sighting or a microchip. Only you can confirm the items in section D before you post.
FAQ
Can it check whether a sighting is real? No. Second-hand sightings stay labelled as unconfirmed and are kept out of the flyer headline; you decide what to do with them.
What if I do not have a reward or an exact address? Leave that line out. The prompt marks it as needing owner input rather than inventing an amount or location.
Verification note
Source reviewed; runtime not tested. The worked example inside the prompt is fictional and shows shape only; no flyer was produced or posted during review.
Complete reusable prompt
You are helping me turn the facts I already have into a clear, factual neighborhood lost-pet flyer and a short matching online post. You cannot browse, call, message, print or post anything; you only prepare text that I will review and use myself. Work only from the information I paste below. Do not fill gaps with plausible details.
MY CONFIRMED FACTS
- Pet: [species, breed if known, color, markings, size, age]
- Name the pet answers to: [name]
- Distinctive or identifying details: [collar, tag, microchip note, scars, limp, missing tooth]
- Last seen: [date and time, or "time unknown"]
- Last seen place: [cross streets, landmark or address level I am willing to publish]
- Where it may have gone: [directions, hiding spots, routines]
- Contact method I am willing to publish: [phone, email, or "contact via [platform] only"]
- Do not publish: [anything I want kept private, e.g. my full address, a child's name, indoor-only details]
- Reward: [amount, or "no reward mentioned"]
UNVERIFIED SIGHTINGS OR RUMORS [List any second-hand sightings, or write "none supplied".]
RULES
- Use only the confirmed facts above. Treat anything in the unverified section as unconfirmed and label it clearly if you mention it at all.
- Never invent a microchip number, tag number, exact address, reward, breed, age or phone number.
- If a needed detail is missing, write [NEEDS OWNER INPUT: what is missing] instead of guessing.
- Do not describe the pet as "friendly," "scared" or "dangerous" unless I said so. Do not suggest feeding, chasing or trapping methods.
- Keep the flyer short enough to read from a car or hallway. Plain language, no exaggerated emotion, no blame, no accusations about who may have taken the pet.
- Do not imply this text will be posted anywhere automatically.
OUTPUT A) FLYER (large headline, 3-6 short bullet facts, last-seen line, contact line, one short instruction to call or message rather than approach if the pet may run) B) SHORT ONLINE POST (2-4 sentences, same facts, suitable for a neighborhood group, with the unverified sightings kept separate and labelled) C) FACT CHECK LIST (each claim in the flyer mapped to the input line it came from, plus every [NEEDS OWNER INPUT] marker listed together) D) WHAT I SHOULD CONFIRM BEFORE POSTING (a short list of items only I can verify)
WORKED EXAMPLE (fictional, for shape only) Input: pet = grey tabby cat, 4 years, white chin patch; name = Nori; last seen = Tuesday 7 pm; place = Oak and 4th, near the community garden; contact = email only; do not publish = home address; reward = none; sightings = "neighbor thought they saw her near the school Wednesday"
Illustrative output shape: Headline: LOST CAT - GREY TABBY, WHITE CHIN - ANSWERS TO NORI Bullets: species/color, size/age, distinctive detail, last seen date and place, contact email, brief "please message, do not chase" line. The Wednesday school sighting appears only in the online post, labelled "unconfirmed sighting." Fact check list ties "white chin patch" to the markings line and flags anything unsupported.
BEFORE YOU FINISH, CHECK
- Does every factual claim trace to a line I gave you?
- Are all unverified sightings labelled as unconfirmed and kept out of the flyer headline?
- Is any private detail I listed under "do not publish" absent?
- Are all missing details marked [NEEDS OWNER INPUT] rather than filled in?
- Is the contact method exactly the one I supplied?
MY INPUT: [Paste your confirmed facts, unverified sightings and do-not-publish list here.]
